We said good by to Zlatibor after two months.\u00a0 We hopped on a bus and traveled to Belgrade a couple of days before our flight. Belgrade, the vibrant capital of Serbia, welcomed us with open arms during our short two-day stopover on the way from Zlatibor to our next adventure. Even in just 48 hours, we managed to soak in the city\u2019s energy, history, and charm.<\/div>\n

We spent our days walking around the bustling streets, taking in the mix of modern architecture and historic buildings, and exploring the old town.<\/p>\n

Getting around the city was easy and fun thanks to Belgrade\u2019s free public transportation in certain zones. It was a breeze hopping on buses and trams, letting us see more of the city without worrying about tickets or schedules. One highlight was visiting the Belgrade Fortress, which has stood for centuries overlooking the confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers. The fortress has been the site of numerous battles throughout history, from Roman times to the Ottoman Empire and beyond, giving us a fascinating glimpse into Belgrade\u2019s strategic importance through the ages. We enjoyed the views from the ramparts\u2014an amazing spot to sit and look out over the rivers.<\/div>\n
