We have had a fast travel pace since leaving Montana. We were in Whitefish, Montana for two months and now the longest we are anywhere until July is a few days. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We traveled from Montana to Oregon to visit Michael\u2019s Aunt Beckelah and Uncle Joe. It was our first visit to Oregon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On our way there, we stopped in Coeur d\u2019Alene, Idaho for the night. We stayed in a tiny house on an equestrian farm<\/a> that we booked through Airbnb. The hosts were friendly. They even let the boys meet a baby horse.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coeur d\u2019Alene is a cute little town on a lake in the skinny part of Idaho.\u00a0\u00a0We only spent one night there., so we did not get to see all that the town has to offer. We found a great park for the kids to play in and ate at Mongolian Barbecue, which is a great restaurant where you make your meal and watch it being cooked.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It took 8 hours from Coeur d\u2019Alene to Eugene. It was a bit jarring to see traffic again and drive on highways after the much slower pace of Whitefish, Montana.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eugene is a college town set in a beautiful, green, lush valley surrounded by foothills. The weather is a bit unpredictable. It rained a little almost every day we were there.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aunt Beckala and Uncle Joe were gracious hosts and a lot of fun. The boys got to camp out in their backyard.  We played board games and they played frisbee golf with the boys. They are avid ultimate frisbee players.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We visited the Cascades Raptor Center. It is a wildlife refuge and hospital that houses and rehabilitates birds of prey. We saw bald eagles, hawks, and owls.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The birds at the Raptor center are permanent residents who would not survive in the wild.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We saw more deer in Eugene. We also saw rabbits and Henry got up close and personal with a squirrel on our hike up Spencer Butte. We went on a clear day and had a gorgeous view of the  Willamette Valley. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also went to a Farmers Market and took a driving tour of the city, including the University of Oregon campus where Beckelah teaches a frisbee class.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We stopped to see the memorial to Steve Prefontaine. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Eugene is a vibrant and relaxed town. There are a lot of outdoor activities.\u00a0\u00a0We enjoyed our visit and would head back to Eugene for another visit.\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
