Our final stop on our six-month South America tour was Buenos Aires. We spent one month in a condo in the Colegiales neighborhood. It is a residential neighborhood between the Belgrano and Palermo neighborhoods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Buenos Aires is home to almost 13 million people. It feels like New York City, but the buildings are not as tall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The condo we stayed in is a two-bedroom, two-bath condo with fast internet and a nice kitchen. There are laundry facilities in the building, which is always a plus for us. We also splurged and had a cleaning lady come once a week. The cleaning service only costs $75 for the entire month.<\/p>\n\n\n

We were exhausted from our previous fast travels in Peru and Bolivia, so we took this opportunity to rest and recover. While we did not do as many touristy things in Buenos Aires, we still had a great time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We found a pickleball and padel club about 40 minutes away from our Airbnb. The owner, Fernando, and the regular Sunday pickleball players were welcoming. The boys even got to play and were just as good as some of the adults. We like to seek out racquet sports when wherever we are.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lucas and Henry took weekly tango lessons from Valery, an Austrian woman who moved to Buenos Aires because of her love for tango. I will post a blog entry they wrote about their experience next week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The natural science museum is well done. The original museum opened in 1826, but the current museum sits in a beautiful building built in the 1920s. There are dinosaur skeletons and many stuffed animals including native birds with recordings of their calls. There is an aquarium and geology and paleontology collections. We spent about two hours exploring the museum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our timing worked out well to be in Buenos Aires for the two-day Meta virtual reality expo at La Rural. We got to experience many different virtual reality environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No matter where we go, bowling and trampoline parks are a favorite for Lucas and Henry. The trampoline park in Buenos Aires is one of the best we have seen. It had a section where Lucas and Henry could play each other in video games that were controlled by jumping. One of the employees helped Lucas learn a front flip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The boys got much needed haircuts<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Michael and I got in a few date nights. The food in Buenos Aires is delicious. <\/p>\n\n\n

Henry was sad when the 24 hour McDonald’s was closed. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

We know that we missed a lot in and around Buenos Aires. It is a place we will have to come back to someday. It is not possible for us to maintain such a fast pace of travel without a break. Buenos Aires was our break.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
