Monteverde is a wonderful break from the heat on the coast. There are sun showers every day. Did I mention the breeze! It is a small two-room house with two beds, a small kitchen, and a couch. It also has a full-sized washer dryer. We almost cried (ok, just me (Judy)) when our clothes came out smelling clean.<\/p>\n<p>The family that owns it is lovely. Jose is the brother who is in charge of the Airbnb. His brother Oscar, who speaks English, helps Jose out. We thought we would have a car, but we did not. It was fine, it just took a little planning. Taxis are easy to call.<\/p>\n<p>On the first day, we walked 4.8 kilometers to Santa Elena on a dangerous, windy, gravel road. It took about an hour. The boys each bought a small change purse. choose\n\t\t\t\t<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n<p>We took it easy in Monteverde. The boys spent most of the week outside running around the property. They built a fort and they were playing so well together (except for rock to the head incident inflicted by Lucas on Henry- there wasn&#8217;t too much blood).<\/p>\n<p>We enjoyed the fresh mountain air, warm showers, and a slower pace. One thing we didn\u2019t get away from was the roosters.
