Our first month of travel in Central America was fast.\u00a0\u00a0A week here, a week there.\u00a0\u00a0That sort of travel, for us, is not sustainable.<\/p>\n

We decided to slow it down a bit and spend one month in San Juan Del Sur, Nicaragua. We chose this town because of the things we read about it online. We read that is beautiful, family-friendly and easy to get around.<\/p>\n

Our first accommodation was three blocks from the beach<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

We booked an Airbnb in the city. Two bedrooms, one bath, and a small kitchen. When you have spent several weeks sharing rooms and in close quarters, 800sq ft. with separate bedrooms is palatial.<\/p>\n

Our kitchen in our first place was tiny, but it had everything we needed. The counter height was perfect for the boys to cook and do dishes.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

From the first day, we knew we chose the right place.\u00a0\u00a0When we first arrived we saw that San Juan Del Sur was a lively town with tons of shops and restaurants. Before we went to bed on our second day we all signed up for Spanish lessons (and took our first lesson), we joined a gym (and took our first class), and we got a library card (and checked out books). Lucas and Henry enjoyed the freedom to run out by themselves for a slice of pizza down the street or go to the store around the corner to grab groceries.<\/p>\n
