Our Last Days in North Carolina

We had a wonderful time with my dad and Kay in North Carolina. We have a good rhythm when we are there. Lucas and I often play tennis with my dad and his tennis group. We play pickleball in the driveway. We walk a two-mile loop almost every morning.

Vivian spent a few more days with us after the beach. She is like a sister to Lucas and Henry. We always love having her hang out with us.

We had more cousin time with Max and Greta. Bowling and arcade is our go to fun day.

We were able to meet up with friends while we were in Winston-Salem. My best friend from high school, Susie, was visiting her parents with her two girls. We spent the day together at the mall, played putt, and tried out Crumbl Cookie. Susie and I met the summer before high school at soccer camp. Now we both have kids about the same age as us when we first met.

We also met up with our worldschooling friends JV, Anna, Tyler, and Emmy. We first met them at a worldschooling conference in San Miguel De Allende, Mexico. This is the second time meeting up with them in Winston-Salem. We joke that both families are world travelers, but we keep meeting in Winston-Salem.

We spent the day catching up while we went roller skating, played pool, and putt-putt, and the kids got to do some gaming. We went to a place called Roar in Winston-Salem. It has a food hall, putt-putt, VR and gaming, bowling, and a rooftop bar. The day we went, they had live music. A new gaming center at Roar was preparing to open the next day. Michael talked the owner into letting the kids play Minecraft, Rocket League, and other games while they were setting up the facility. Michael told the owner that the kids could test the systems to ensure everything was properly running. We were at Roar until midnight.

We had a last fancy dinner with my dad and Kay. We said goodbye to Cassie. Then our time in Winston-Salem this year came to an end. It was time to pack up for our next adventure. Until next year, North Carolina!
