We Went to Arizona in the Summer

We try not to visit Arizona in the summer, but this year it was our only chance to visit Michael’s family. We braved the heat and had a fun time. Melissa and Mike have a great house and a pool, and they recently added an RV garage, casita, and pickleball court.

We played a lot of pickleball in the morning and at night. There is a great pickleball community where they live. Michael, Melissa, and Lucas even woke up at 6 a.m. on Saturday to play in a cash pickleball game.

Mike and Melissa also got a cold plunge. We all tried it out. Mike paid the kids per minute for staying in and an extra $2 for dunking their heads.

Henry went to ju-jitsu with Barret a few times. He enjoyed the classes. Michael’s mom (aka Nana) came over almost every day. Nana likes to play games. We played cards, spoons, bingo, monopoly, and Twister. In order to stay cool, our activities included indoor putt-putt, and shopping at Costco and a sporting goods store. Frosty’s were a must in 100+ degree heat.

The next time we visit, we will come in the spring or fall. Arizona is a nice place to visit, but the heat in the summer is hard to handle.

We also got to see our worldschool friends the McIntyre’s. They put us up for the night, and we have a great time. We met the McIntyre’s in Ecuador. The boys all got along well. Michael taught them how to play poker. We love catching up with friends we have met on our travels.
