Paragliding in Turkey

This is the reason we travel the world: to find unforgettable, unique experiences.  Our family just had one of those “we’ll be talking about this forever” adventures—paragliding over the stunning coast of Ölüdeniz with Dragon Paragliding—and it exceeded every expectation.

There were 11 of us in total, ranging in age from 9 to 50. There is no better way to bond with your friends than jumping off a mountain together!  It definitely made the experience even more special. Some were a little nervous at first (not me! Bring it on!), but the team was incredibly professional and reassuring from the moment we arrived. They walked us through everything, answered all our questions, and made sure even the youngest and the most afraid-of-heights in our group felt confident and excited. The real magic started when we drove up Babadağ Mountain—one of the highest commercial paragliding launch sites in the world. Standing at the top, looking out over the bright blue water and lush coastline, it almost didn’t feel real. Then suddenly, with just a few steps forward, we were in the air. It all happened so fast. Eleven fliers and eleven pilots.
We soared from heights of around 6,000 to nearly 7,000 feet (1,800 to 2,220 meters), gliding smoothly above the famous Blue Lagoon. It wasn’t the stomach-dropping feeling you might expect—it was peaceful, almost dreamlike, although some of the pilots did some stomach-churning turns and tricks if you asked them to. The views were unreal: turquoise water, white sand, mountains stretching in every direction.
What made it even more memorable was sharing it with friends. Watching each other take off, spotting familiar parachutes in the sky, and then swapping stories afterward made it to the beach. Even the younger ones in our group came down grinning ear to ear, already asking when we could do it again.
This wasn’t just an activity—it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. If you’re ever in Turkey and even thinking about paragliding, do it. It’s thrilling, beautiful, and surprisingly accessible for a wide range of ages. For our group of 11, it turned into one of the highlights of our trip—and honestly, one of the best adventures we’ve ever had together.
