We continue to enjoy Fethiye and have managed to figure out how to live here in a way that feels both exciting and comfortable.

One of our more creative decisions was renting an extra apartment just for the kids. It’s basically turned into the ultimate hangout space. There are poker nights, D&D games, and a lot of laughter coming from there almost every evening. It’s been such a great way for them to have independence while still being close by. Michael, of course, has been busy finding ways to make everything more fun. He somehow turned a nearby basketball court into a pickleball court, which has quickly become a favorite activity. Between that, the gym, and the scooters, he’s definitely making the most of our time here.

Food has been a bit of an adventure too. Vegan restaurant options in Fethiye are pretty limited, so we’ve had to get creative. Thankfully, Michael found a local group that hosted a vegan picnic —great food and great people. We also discovered a restaurant with a dedicated vegan menu (a rare find here), and it came with an unexpected bonus: a resident cat named Pablo Escobar who completely stole the show.
On the home front, The boys and I have been enjoying cooking more than usual. I even bought a bundt pan and have been on a bit of a baking streak—chocolate, strawberry, apple, carrot… it’s safe to say no one is complaining. The cats are even curious.
What’s stood out the most is how easy it is to enjoy life here. Fethiye is walkable and surrounded by natural beauty. Whether we’re walking through town, spending time at the parks, or just hanging out together, it feels simple in the best way.
