The wind in your hair, the sun on your face, and the pain in your legs and butt. It sounds glamorous, we know. The kids have been taking horseback riding lessons for a month now. The kids love it, so we decided to take a family horseback riding adventure.
We went to Big Sky Ranch where the kids have their lessons. Claudia was our guide. Our noble steeds were saddled up and ready to go when we got there.
Michael rode Sueño.
Lucas rode Negro.
Henry rode Javier.
Judy rode Pinto.
It was a beautiful 40-minute ride through the woods to Playa Yankee. It is one of the beaches we have not been to because it is currently closed to the public. It is a beautiful white sand beach with Caribbean blue water.
Michael took his horse for a canter down the beach while the rest of us rested up and had some water.
The ride back was just as beautiful and peaceful. We went at a leisurely pace, and our horses liked to stop for a snack often. We are thankful to have this opportunity to get out in nature.
Lucas and Henry enjoy their time with the horses. They are signed up for another month of horseback riding lessons. Lucas even helped wash the horses off after the ride.
This was a great experience that we hope to do again before we leave.
