Two years ago, we met a family while staying in Nicaragua during COVID. The son Tye became good friends with Lucas and Henry. The trio still hangs out via video chat and plays Minecraft and Roblox together almost weekly.

Earlier this summer, Henry and Tye hung out in person over the 4th of July. Tye and his mom Sarah were flying from England to Nicaragua. They made a pit stop to visit us in Kentucky. Lucas was at camp and didn’t get to see Tye.

Henry and Tye fell into an easy rhythm like two years had not passed. It was fun watching them connect in person. We broke out the slip and slide, went bowling, and fishing.

They got to see fireworks together and even shoot some off.

This type of friendship is the kind we hope the boys will continue to make as we travel.
