We always have to find time to visit Georgia. My sister Emily lives in Atlanta, and my mom lives in South Georgia. After leaving Kentucky, we headed to Georgia to see Emily, her husband Jonathan, and our adorable nephew, Milo.
Emily and Jonathan always make us feel welcome. She cooks delicious food. She was on an Indian food kick while we were there, and it was so good. Milo and I got bonding time in the mornings while Emily and Jonathan got a chance to sleep later. We also got snuggles with our favorite dogs, Josie and Dexter.
Michael took Lucas to a Georgia Bulldogs football game. They had a great time in Athens with our friend Steve. Steve and Michael were roommates many years ago and still keep in touch.
We found time to play pickleball and dye Lucas and Henry’s hair again! We also saw some friends in Atlanta. Lucas has been friends with Max and Dexter since they were babies. We love getting to reconnect. We did not have time to see all of our friends, but we will be back.
We took a trip down to South Georgia to visit my mom. We made a pit stop each way in Macon, Georgia to play pickleball. We also got to hand diver postcards that we took from the post office on Floreana Island in Galapagos while we were in Macon. We met the author of the postcards when we delivered one of them to his son. We had a chat about travel and Galapagos with him.
My mom lives on 5 acres of land. She spends her days caring for her outdoor dog Rae and several outdoor cats. We helped out with some yard projects and enjoyed sitting on the porch.
Lucas and Henry were excited to go to Golden Corral. It is a tradition they have with my mom that hasn’t happened since before the pandemic. We also went to a fun park where the boys played laser tag, putt-putt, and Virtual reality games.
The excitement of the trip was the rattlesnake we discovered under our car! The day we were leaving, Rae was barking incessantly around our car. Michael went out to see what was bothering Rae and saw a coiled-up rattlesnake under the back left tire. We were about to load the car up. It would have been bad if she had not altered us about the snake.
The farm life is not for us, but we enjoyed seeing my mom.
