Denver

We left Atlanta to head out West. We planned to stop in St. Louis to experience the City Museum again (we highly recommend it), but as we approached St. Louis, Lucas and Henry were not excited about it. They wanted to get to Colorado to see their friends, Maddie and Austin.

We all decided to keep driving, and twelve hours later, we were in Topeka, Kansas. The drive out West is long, but with straight flat roads and adaptive cruise control, it is not too bad. We arrived in Denver on our second day of travel around 4 pm.

We stayed with our friend Paula who we met on the beach in Ecuador. We love the reunions with our Ecuador friends. Lucas, Henry, Maddie, and Austin fell back into a rhythm like they weren’t apart for several months.

One nice thing about the kids getting older is that they can entertain themselves, and we get more time to hang out with our friends. Paula, Michael, and I went to a Neil Diamond cover band concert – Super Diamond. We even dressed up! It was the first concert we have been to post Covid. We had a blast.

We also took a trip up to Winter Park to help Paula move some furniture out of a condo she purchased. The air was crisp and cool up in the mountains. It was 30 degrees in the morning. Fall in Denver is stunning. I like it better than winter in Denver, but Lucas and Henry would disagree since they love to ski.

Michael and I also saw our old roommate Emily. She lived with us many years ago when she was a summer associate in Atlanta and when she started working full-time. We saw her and her husband Chuck last year in Denver.

We will have to make Denver a frequent stop on our trips out West so we can see our friends and because Denver is an awesome city.
