We were scheduled to be back in the United States in May. We planned to get haircuts when we got back to the states. Michael thought about getting a haircut here in San Juan Del Sur before COVID-19, but he never got around to it. His hair is back in full force after losing much of it during his last cancer treatment. It came back curly, extra curly.
Lucas wants to grow his hair out. He has always wanted long hair. He can have whatever hairstyle he wants, but short hair is more convenient for sports and there was that one time when he got lice, so we have always managed to convince him to cut it before it got too long. Now that we are traveling there is no reason to cut it.
Henry generally likes his hair short and combed, but his hair has gone wild. His calming mechanism is twirling his hair. He has done it since he was a baby. Now that is hair is long, he twirls it until it is so tangled that it looks and feels like dreadlocks. He reminds us of a troll doll.
Judy’s hair is not much different from her normal hairstyle. It is mostly up in a ponytail these days because it is so hot. Judy has been proudly sporting her white hair for a couple of years now, so she does not have to worry about dyeing her hair during the pandemic.
Even the birds here have amazing hairstyles:
By the time this is all over we may look like this:
But it is ok. It is just hair. We are living our lives for us and we like what we see.
