Michael just took another trip around the sun — He is middle-aged now, but that somehow doesn’t match the big-kid energy he brings into our lives every single day.

For the past six and a half years, so much of the magic we have experienced on our travel journey is because of him. Michael doesn’t just travel — he turns every place into a playground, every plan into an adventure, and every ordinary day into a story we’ll be telling for years.

He’s the dad who says “why not?” when the rest of us are still thinking it through. The one with the wild ideas that keep me on my toes, laughing, occasionally shaking my head, and always grateful. Michael makes our lives an adventure. He is genuinely, joyfully fun — reminding us all to see the world with curiosity and wonder.
Maybepart of his zest for life comes from beating cancer twice. Those experiences changed us, shaped us, and somehow made his love for life even louder. He shows our kids what resilience looks like, what gratitude means, and how precious every day truly is.
Through it all, Michael is a playful, loving, and present father. Lucas and Henry are so lucky to have him — and I know they’ll grow up carrying his adventurous spirit and big heart with them wherever they go. I am fortunate to have a true partner with whom I get to share this amazing adventure.
Michael, we are lucky to do life with you. Happy birthday to the man who makes our world bigger, brighter, and so much more fun. Here’s to many more adventures ahead — we’re mostly ready for whatever wild idea comes next.
