We have been in North Carolina for the past two months. We are spending time with my (Judy) parents. We are not getting out and about too much because of COVID. Our days are low key. We are enjoying the fall.
We have gotten to see some aunts and uncles and cousins. Family time is always cherished. We got to meet Cinnamon, the newest addition to my brother’s family. Henry is smitten.
The boys work on school subjects in the mornings during the week. We have a new routine with a mix of workbooks and online learning resources. We added coding on Wednesdays and Lucas and Henry enjoy it.
In the afternoons we play tennis, go for walks and sometimes take a dip in the hot tub. Some days the boys get Minecraft and watching time or we bake. Lucas and Henry are still playing Minecraft several days a week with their friend Ty who they met in Nicaragua.
We just finished reading The One and Only Ivan by K.A. Applegate. We watched the One and Only Ivan movie on Disney Plus. It was sweet. We also read Hoot by Carl Hiaasen. The boys liked it so much that we are going to read Flush, Chomp, and Scat, also written by Carl Hiaasen.
I had a wonderful birthday celebration last weekend. For my birthday dinner, we had a spread of wings, egg rolls, jalapeno poppers, and cupcakes. Michael organized a painting event on the back porch. I received gifts, flowers, and well-wishes from family and friends. It was perfect.
We are now turning our attention to Halloween and Henry’s birthday coming up this weekend. He will be 8 years old. The boys will not be trick or treating this year, but we have plenty of fun activities planned.
