Welcome to 2021! We rang in the New Year with cousins, aunts, uncles, dogs, and grandpa. We are lucky to have a family bubble during this time. We missed all of the family and friends we are not able to see now, but hopefully, we will be seeing them all in 2021.
We had a phenomenal last meal of 2020. Rack of lamb, homemade mac and cheese, rosemary and garlic potatoes, roasted broccoli and carrots, and sauteed brussel sprouts. The night was capped off by a dance party and a few fireworks set off by a neighbor in the cul-de-sac. 2020 was a memorable year for many reasons, but we are ready to move forward.
With the new year come new adventures. One of our biggest new adventures is the Montana Hybrid Acadamy. Lucas and Henry will be attending the academy’s online program this semester. This school was developed in connection with Beyond School, a venture started by our friend Jenn Sutherland-Miller. This program embodies our values on education and we are excited to see how it goes.
This will be a change for us because the boys will be involved with the school four days a week. For the last year and a half, we have not had a set schedule. We like having flexibility when we travel, but we will not be doing much traveling in the next five months because of COVID. This is a perfect opportunity for the kids to meet other kids online and have a new experience.
Another change is that Michael and I will be working part-time. I have been doing some contract work for my old law firm, and in addition to managing real estate, Michael has the opportunity to go back to his old job part-time. This was not in our plans, but since we are somewhat stationary for a while, we thought we would take this opportunity to earn some money and not burn through the money we set aside to travel and see the world.
We have done a lot of pivoting in the last year, but we are getting good at it. Come on 2021, we are ready for you.
