Driving Cross Country

We are on the move again. Twenty-five hours, 10 states, and over 1500 miles of driving to get out to Colorado Springs. It has been a long three days, but our travels were smooth.  We had great weather and no traffic. The boys had school Thursday and Friday and they were able to do it in the car using our hotspots.

Despite our efforts at minimalism, our car is packed. To be fair we had to take all of Lucas and Henry’s school supplies, including their chemistry sets. We also have skis and boots because we will be skiing for the next month!

We felt very safe traveling despite COVID. We only stopped for gas, bathroom, food, and hotels.  Many of the towns we stopped in were so small that there were not many people around.  We even got to eat in a restaurant because it was empty. Michael used to eat at Taco John’s growing up in Kansas. He was excited about their potato oles (seasoned hashbrowns with nacho cheese dip).

We did not see snow until we got to Colorado. The boys managed to find a little bit of snow outside of our hotel in Colorado Springs. They are about to see a lot more when we head to the Mountains.

We got gear at Geranamo Ski Shop in Colorado Springs https://gearonimosports.com/. Henry made a friend.

Tomorrow we head towards Keystone, Breckenridge, and Vail.
