Day 3 in Bocas was a zero-day for us. We only left the house to go to the grocery store. The boys did school in the morning and we played cards and had some screen time in the afternoon.
Zero days are critical for us since we are now traveling long term.
I (Judy) did laundry. We have a cute little washing machine with a centrifuge to spin the clothes out before hanging them up. The clothes aren’t the cleanest clothes we have ever had, but they don’t smell like B.O. or pee, so that is a win.
We invited our new friends Brenda and Bram and their kids over for a happy hour, which turned into a potluck dinner. They made a quiche and we made pasta.
Brenda whipped up a quiche crust from scratch like it was nothing at all while Michael and I were in the grocery store looking for anything in a box that we knew how to cook.
We need to get more creative about cooking. In the U.S. it is so easy and convenient to get already made sauces, sides, and even whole meals that just have to be heated. We were also spoiled living at my sister Emily’s house. Emily is an amazing cook who can do things like whip up a quiche crust from scratch.
Whipping a quiche crust up from scratch. Just another goal to add to our growing list.
The quiche was delicious. The conversation was delightful. It was also satisfying to see Henry getting flustered by the two younger boys they were playing with. Usually, Henry is tormenting Lucas. It is good for him to be tormented once in a while.
