It’s official. Lucas is a teenager! Lucas turned 13 in June. He had two requests for his birthday. He wanted to play pickleball and see a Braves Game. We made it happen even though we were on our way home from Michigan.
We stopped in Cincinnati the day before Lucas’ birthday because the Braves were in town playing the Reds. On the way to Cincinnati we stopped in Dayton to visit the National Museum of the United States Air Force.
We picked an exciting Braves game. The Braves lost the game on Lucas’ birthday, but they won the series. It was still a great game with the teams scoring a combined 21 runs.
Cincinnati also has a great pickleball culture. We found a public pickleball facility with 24 courts. There is open play every day. We played pickleball three days in a row. Michael and Lucas were kings of the court. Henry held his own against the adults he played. I also won most of my matches.
We also got Lucas tickets to see the Big Time Rush concert in North Carolina. Lucas and Henry like the tv show that launched the band. They were excited to see the show. Big Time Rush came out to the middle of the amphitheater during the show, and Michael and Henry got to shake Logan’s hand.
Lucas turning 13 reminds us that time is flying by. He was only 9 when we started worldschooling. He is transforming into a smart, handsome, funny, amazing man. Happy birthday, Lucas!
