Happy Birthday, Henry!

Henry celebrated his 12th birthday in Tejakula, Bali with friends and family. We spent a lovely day swimming, flying a kite, and playing games.  Henry had his first massage. He was happy to spend his birthday with his Uncle Sam and AC, and his friends the Sigstons and the Sollers.  We had another great buffet dinner at our villa.  We have been spoiled in our accommodations in Tejakula.

Henry has been waiting 10 months to turn 12 to complete his advanced scuba certification. He did most of the certification earlier this year in Panglao, Philippines, but he was not old enough to complete his deep dive. The day after his birthday, Henry went diving at the Liberty Wreck in Tulamben and completed his certification.

The Liberty was a United States Army Cargo Ship damaged during World War II. It was beached on the eastern shore of Bali at Tulamben so that the cargo and fittings could be salvaged. In 1963, it was swept into the Ocean by tremors from the eruption of Mount Agung. The wreck lies on a sand slope in 25 to 100 feet of water. It is one of the most popular dive sites in Bali and arguably the most popular wreck dive in the world.

Henry did a deep dive and a wreck dive with his friend Jake.  He dove with a local scuba diving instructor, Jim.  Henry, Lucas, and Michael all dove with Diving with Jim (https://www.divingwithjimamed.com/). It was one of the best dive experiences the boys have had so far, and we are thankful to Jim and his team for making it such a memorable experience.

Happy Birthday, Henry!!
