Kuala Lumpur, Week Three

Week three of the Forever Wild Hub was full of more adventure. On Monday, the kids spent the day climbing trees at Taman Rimba Kiara. Tuesday was a rainy day, but Solomon, Amanda, and the kids still found fun at Sunway Velocity Two. Book club, craft club, playground time and swimming, Karaoke, parent roundtables and parent nights out were also on the agenda this week.

On Wednesday, a large group of us went to Batu Caves, located just outside Kuala Lumpur. We took the train, which was an adventure in itself.

As you approach the site, the towering golden statue of Lord Murugan, 42.7 meters tall, greets you. This iconic statue is one of the tallest in the world and symbolizes strength and protection.

There are 272 steep steps to the entrance of the limestone caves, which house several Hindu temples and shrines. The climb itself offers great views of the surrounding area. There are a lot of playful and sometimes aggressive monkeys along the way.

After Batu Caves, some of us went out for Indian food.

This week, we made pickleball a family affair and a Forever Wild affair. Lucas, Henry, Michael, and I all went out to play pickleball on Monday night. Afterward, some pickleball friends took us to Mee Tarik Restoran for a delicious meal. On Friday, Michael arranged for our Forever Wild family to come out and play pickleball. Many of them had never played. It was fun for Michael and Lucas to share their passion for pickleball with our friends.

Our time in Kuala Lumpur is flying by, but that is because we are having such a great time!
