Tejakula, Bali – Week 1

After spending a month in the busy city of Ubud, we escaped to the north of Bali to rest in a beautiful Villa on the Bali Sea.

Our trip to Tejakula was an adventure. Our driver took a wrong turn, and our van drove down a narrow, bumpy dirt road meant for motorbikes. Many villagers told us to turn back, but one intrepid soul guided us on the path. We had to stop to let the van cool down, but we eventually arrived at our destination.

We stayed at Camplung Beach Villa. It is a six-bedroom villa located in the sleepy town of Tejakula. There are no grocery stores and only a few restaurants. The villa has a large pool with a swim-up bar, a pool table, and a badminton net. There are bikes and one motorbike we can use to get around. The villa also comes with Mocha, a friendly dog.

The gas station

My brother Sam and his wife AC came to visit us. We love it when our family makes a trip out to see us.

In the first week, I celebrated my birthday. Michael planned a fabulous day with massages, a catered dinner, and a dance party. Sam wrote a rap for my birthday that did not disappoint. Being surrounded by friends and family in a beautiful setting made the day perfect.

Our days in Tejakula are mostly filled with pool time, snorkeling, games, and laughter. We did venture out to Aling-Aling Waterfall. We got our adrenaline pumping with cliff jumps and a natural waterslide. Everyone in our group jumped off the 5-meter platform (about 15 feet). Lucas jumped off the 10 (about 30 feet) and 15-meter (about 50 feet) platforms.
