Our ski adventure continued in Utah. We arrived in Brian Head just in time for a fresh snowfall—five inches of powder greeted us on our first day! The mountain looked like a winter wonderland, and the conditions were perfect for skiing. Soft, fluffy snow made for smooth runs, and Henry and I spent the morning cruising down the slopes, enjoying the crisp mountain air (and the 16 mph gusts of wind– Brrrrrrrr.)
Unfortunately, not all of us got to enjoy it. Lucas came down with a cold and took the day off. Michael also took the day off to rest. While Henry and I hit the slopes, they stayed bundled up inside, taking it easy and watching the snowfall from the window. We have another ski-in/ski-out condo, which makes planning easy. The condo also has a game room with a pool table and ping pong. There is also a hot tub and sauna.
Michael and I had a ski date on our second day in Brian Head. Lucas was still under the weather and Henry was sore from skiing in powdery conditions. The conditions in Brian Head are a lot different from the groomed trails of Purgatory. Our second week in Brian Head was much warmer and the conditions deteriorated. It was becoming slushy and it was rocky in places. It is hard to predict what conditions will be like when you book months in advance. We still had a nice week relaxing in our condo.
