Hiking the San Juan Del Sur Bay

We stay cooped up in our house in Nicaragua most of the time. It is hard to continue to stay home when we have been quarantined for so long, but we know that getting sick here would not be good. COVID-19 is here. It is real.

We do get out to grocery shop and occasionally head to a deserted beach or go for a hike. This past weekend we took a hike around the bay in San Juan Del Sur. The hike was 4 miles round trip.  The beach in San Juan Del Sur is never crowded.  We saw about 10 people on the beach that day.

Our hike took us down to the end of the beach and then around the cliff where the Cristo de La Misericordia sits on top.

There is no substitute for fresh air. We all needed to stretch our legs and clear our heads. The boys had a blast climbing on rocks. Michael and I enjoyed watching the waves crash into the Ocean. We loved seeing a new viewpoint of the bay.

Lucas and Henry asked if we could make this a weekly hike.  We think that is a great idea.
