Fun in the Sun in Phoenix, AZ

Michael’s family lives in Arizona, so we try to get out there to visit at least once a year. This was our second visit this year. Our first visit was in July and it was hot. The weather was much nicer this time. We stayed with Michael’s sister and family. They have a beautiful house with an acre of land, so the kids can run around.

The main purpose of our trips to Arizona are to hang out with family, so our days are not jam-packed. We still did a lot during this visit. The first few days we spent riding UTVs in Herber, AZ.

The first weekend we were there we were busy with sporting events. We got to watch our niece and nephew play softball and baseball.

Lucas was in a tennis tournament in Glendale, AZ. He just barely lost his first match to the number 1 seed (8-10 in a third set tiebreak) and then he won the rest of his matches to win the consolation bracket. He was excited to get a medal. Our lifestyle makes playing sports tricky, but we have still been able to get the boys involved in sports. We have more tennis tournaments coming up in November.

The weather was perfect for hiking. We hiked the Go To John trail. It is a 5.9 mile moderate loop trail located near Cave Creek, Arizona. The kids did a great job. They were ahead of us for most of the hike.

In addition to hiking, we also took some neighborhood walks with Melissa’s dogs, Radar and Luna. The kids also got to take a spin on ATVs. Arizona in October is a great time to do outdoor activities.

The kids had a blast at Top Golf. We got to hang out with Michael’s dad and his wife. Henry does not like going to the driving range, but he loves Top Golf.

Some of the best days were spent hanging around the house. The kids got into the game Oregon Trail. They also were excited to play Nintendo because we do not have a game console. Nana and Mema came over to play cards. Hearts was a favorite game. Snuggles with Radar and Luna were also nice.
